An authentic rug is a beautiful example of genuine craftsmanship. An authentic rug should last at least a man's age. With proper care, even longer. Therefore, take good care of it.

Stains: use only mild soap, preferably sap, and a kitchen towel and gently wipe away the stain. Place a towel under the rug so you don't damage your floor.

If the dye "bleeds" or sheds when you dry, stop immediately and have a professional clean the rug.

Do not use stain removers.

Always have your rug washed by a professional using mild detergent and water. Do not dry clean your authentic rug. This will not clean the rug. It will only solidify dirt and stains.

You can always air and shake your rug. Hang it on the balcony, terrace or put it on the patio. Wool cleans itself when it comes out into the fresh air. But avoid snow and rain.

Vacuum the rug when necessary.

Never whip a real rug. This will break the knots.
