OUR STORY
Sunday Souk is a Finnish homeware brand. Bored of the quantity of mass-produced impersonal homeware, the enlightenment of the beauty of unique handmade homeware came to me during my time spent in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. There all private homes as well as guesthouses, hotels and restaurants felt cozy. The mass-production homeware, we are used to in the Western world, weren’t seen anywhere. All the ceramics, surfaces, rugs, lamps and fabrics were unique - artisan made.
If a plate was cracked in a Moroccan restaurant it was not automatically thrown away, but rather used again and again and again.
Rugs in hotels had softened the ways of many travelers during many decades and were still beautiful. Also originally white rugs. Occidental aspiration for perfection was not present there, something I adored.
